ANNUAL FALL FUN RUN

The Lake George Powerboating Association (LGPBA) is pleased to announce the 2007 Fall Fun Run, an annual Columbus Day weekend poker run that will be held on Lake George Saturday, October 6.

With over 300 members nationwide involved in the LGPBA, last year’s event featured over 77 high performance, top-end registered boats, and drew thousands of onlookers in attendance.

This year’s Fun Run not only contributes to boat enthusiasts, but also creates awareness of the Lake George region and the Ted Abriel Memorial Fund; this year’s fundraiser in memoriam of Ted Abriel, a fallen Albany Fire Department veteran from Slingerlands. To date, each annual event has donated a portion of proceeds to a local fundraiser.

Boats may register for the event up until 11 am on Saturday. The run kicks off 1:30 pm from the public docks located in Lake George Village and will end at the same location, at 5pm. All spectators can view the run from these docks and the shoreline of Lake George. All boats will be displayed at the docks for public viewing until the run begins. Many vendors will also be located around the dock area with displays of their products including, Tony’s Ticonderoga Sports, Dockside Landing Marina, Shoreline Marina Morgan Marina, Damico Racing Engines and many others.

“We are excited to share the tradition of poker runs on Lake George with the public,” stated Bob Scanlon, president of the LGBPA. “This event is a wonderful opportunity for locals and visitors to experience and celebrate the 32 miles of water that Lake George offers to boaters and lake enthusiasts.”

Event entry price is $225.00 a boat or $185.00 for LGPBA members. The 2007 Fall Fun Run will be hosted by King Neptunes Pub in Lake George Village. Each entry package includes a reception at King Neptunes Pub on Friday night with live music, boat launching, docking and parking at the public docks for the entire weekend, Lake George usage permit, one poker hand, 2 event lunch tickets and 2 tickets for the awards dinner party to be held at King Neptunes Pub on Saturday, featuring live music from Soul Injection. Helicopter photos and video will also be taken of the run and will be available after the event.

Event sponsors include, Robert Marini Builders, Bonacio Construction Inc., AXA Equitable and the Treasure Cove Resort on Lake George.

Price is $225.00 ($185.00 for LGPBA members)
